BOSTON – Dnutch Associates, Inc. of Methuen has been named the winner of the 2014 Massachusetts Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year award according to an announcement by Robert Nelson, Massachusetts SBA District Director.

The Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year award is presented annually to an outstanding woman-owned business that has received SBA assistance and has a successful three-year track record. The selection for this award was based on the following criteria: staying power, growth in number of employees, increase in sales and/or unit volume, innovation of product or service, and response to adversity and community contributions.  The company was nominated for this award by Gerard Lorden, a Senior Vice President with The Lorden Group, Morgan Stanley.

Denise Jones founded Dnutch Associates, Inc. in 1993 in Methuen, Massachusetts to provide expertise in the design, verification, development, and testing of large-scale information technology (IT) systems for public and private sector clients. The company’s goal is to provide best-in-class IT solutions and deliver significant value to their clients. Dnutch Associates participated in the SBA’s 8(a) government contracting program and was also part of the SBA’s emerging 200 leadership program in Boston in 2012.

“After starting Dnutch Associates, Inc., Denise Jones showed an impressive willingness to innovate and to grow, and took full advantage of the government contracting and other help that was offered to her and to her business, including the SBA’s e200 training program,” said Nelson. “Dnutch Associates is a strong example of a resourceful woman-owned business that has staying power, and we are delighted to recognize their success.”

Denise Jones will be honored at an SBA awards breakfast along with the other Massachusetts Small Business Week 2014 winners at Lombardo’s on May 13, 2014.
