Las Vegas - Today Nevada Small Business Administration announced the highly successful Emerging Leaders program will be offered again in 2016.  Selected small business owners statewide will have the opportunity to receive specialized training through this popular SBA educational series.

The class curriculum is delivered over thirteen bi-weekly in-person class sessions within a 26-week time frame. There are approximately one hundred hours of classroom time, and applicants chosen for the limited 20 available slots must make a commitment to attend the entire series. Classes will be held in Las Vegas, and all small businesses throughout the state are welcomed to apply.

Participants are given the opportunity to work with experienced mentors that include guest experts from the fields of accounting, finance and government contracting. The curriculum also includes participation in a CEO mentoring group through which they develop connections with peers in their industry.

Robert Holguin, SBA Nevada District Director, said, “The Emerging Leaders Program was a huge success in 2015, graduating 14 outstanding businesses. This is a great opportunity for business owners to increase revenues and create jobs.”

This training is not for start-ups. To be eligible to apply, businesses must be represented by a CEO, COO or CFO, have been in business for at least three years, employ at least one employee besides the business owner and must generate between $400,000 and $10 million in annual gross revenues. All applicants will be interviewed by SBA for eligibility in the program.

Seating is limited to 20 participants and a waiting list will be created should an opening become available during the first session.

Nevada District recruitment is underway and classes will begin in March.
