Saratoga County Businesses Win SBA Small Business Excellence Awards

ALBANY, N.Y. – Four local small businesses were recognized during National Small Business Week at the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 19th Annual Small Business Excellence Awards luncheon in Albany on Tuesday, May 2nd.  Small businesses are selected for the Excellence Awards based on their company’s longevity, innovation, sales growth, increased employment, ability to overcome adversity or community contributions.

The Women’s Business Center of New York State honored Delain Law Office, PLLC, owned by Nancy B. Delain and based in Clifton Park, with a 2017 Small Business Excellence Award. Delain Law Office, PLLC is devoted to helping you, our client, NURTURE YOUR MIND-CHILD® by leveraging your intellectual property (including patent) and business collateral through a long-term working relationship sustained by our providing legal services timely, effectively and efficiently. The office serves a broad range of clients, from individuals and startups to midsized companies. Nancy, a registered patent attorney, graduated from Franklin Pierce Law Center in 2003 and was admitted to practice in New York in January 2004. Additionally, she provides pro bono services through the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York.

Saratoga National Bank & Trust Company honored Family Medicine of Malta, owned by Marc Price, D.O. and based in Mechanicville, with a 2017 Small Business Excellence Award. Family Medicine of Malta aims to provide exceptional care for all of its patients in a warm and friendly environment. The practice prides itself on open lines of communication between the patients, office staff, and clinicians. Family Medicine of Malta offers prompt and professional service making every effort to accommodate patient needs, all while keeping patient health and well-being the number one priority.

The Adirondack Trust Company honored Kinetic Sports Medicine, owned by Dr. Richard Kim and based in Saratoga Springs, with a 2017 Small Business Excellence Award. Kinetic Sports Medicine (KSM) is dedicated to helping patients achieve their activity goals by providing thoughtful, innovative and quality care. Dr. Kim is board certified in sports medicine, internal medicine and pediatrics. As a team physician for the USA Rugby Team and medical director for the Saratoga Palio Half Marathon, he cares for active individuals across all abilities. Since opening, Dr. Kim has added ultrasound guided injections, sports concussion care, sports nutrition, and most recently regenerative medicine products. Regenerative products, like stem cells, are a new therapy to improve conditions such as osteoarthritis.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch honored Name Bubbles, LLC, owned by Michelle L. Brandriss and based in Ballston Spa, with a 2017 Small Business Excellence Award. Name Bubbles is a waterproof name label company that creates dishwasher and laundry-safe labels, as well as personalized wall decor, accessories, and more. They have many personalization options available online and a large variety of styles, icons, and colors. Michelle Brandriss started Name Bubbles in her home when she realized that the items she specially labelled for her son while in day care weren’t easy to read, caused mix-ups and didn’t stay on. Michelle’s well-crafted water-proof labels quickly grew into a successful e-commerce business. Not only do Name Bubbles labels stand out, they stay put!
