MIAMI - The U.S. Small Business Administration renewed a Strategic Alliance Memorandum (SAM) with the Town of Jupiter on Aug. 19, during its scheduled town council meeting  in the Town Hall Council Chambers.

The purpose of this SAM agreement is to develop and foster mutual understanding and a working relationship between SBA and the Town of Jupiter to foster small business development and expansion.  The current SAM executed in 2012, expires on August 29.

"SBA exists to provide counseling, small business capital and government contracting opportunities," said South Florida District Director Francisco "Pancho" Marrero. "This fiscal year, 14 small businesses in the Town of Jupiter were approved for nearly $7.7 million through SBA lending programs.  Not only do we want to increase the access of capital to Town of Jupiter business owners and entrepreneurs but we also want to help grow business and create jobs through SBA counseling and contracting resources."

“The Town of Jupiter appreciates our continuing partnership with the Small Business Administration. This partnership means that SBA resources are more easily accessible to small business community,” said Town of Jupiter Mayor Karen Golonka .

SBA South Florida District and its resource partners provide capital, counseling services and contracting opportunities to entrepreneurs and small business owners to start and expand small businesses that create new jobs. 

SBA South Florida Deputy District Director Jonel Hein and Mayor Golonka signed the SAM which will remain in effect for two more years.
