SBA Announces 2015 Florida Small Business Week Winners

Jacksonville, FL - U.S. Small Business Administration North Florida District Director Wilfredo J. Gonzalez is pleased to announce the winners of SBA's 2015 District and State of Florida Small Business Week Awards.

"Once a year I have the privilege of acknowledging and celebrating the accomplishments of small business owners in Florida. I would like to congratulate all of this year’s Small Business Week winners. The nominations this year were very competitive, and all the winners are highly deserving of their respective awards” stated Gonzalez.

National Small Business Week will be held May 4-8, 2015.  It was announced Mar. 16, the city of Miami will be the “Kick Off” city for the week long celebration followed by Los Angeles, San Antonio, New York City and culminating in Washington, D.C. where national winners will be recognized and awarded.  This year’s theme is, “SBA: Dream Big, Start Small.”

The 2015 SBA North Florida District Small Business Person of the Year is Sandra Saft.  Saft is the President of S. Saft and Company dba Window Interiors, located in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

The North Florida district and SBA State of Florida Small Business Exporter of the Year is Douglas Worswick. Worswick is the President of Certified Slings, located in Casselberry, Florida.

Jeff Rawls is named the 2015 North Florida Veteran-Owned Small Business Person of the Year. Rawls is the Owner of Synergy Fabrications, LLC, located in Palatka, Florida.

The North Florida District Woman-Owned Small Business Person of the Year is Margarita U. Howard. Howard is the President of HX5, located in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

The North Florida District and State of Florida Minority-Owned Small Business Person of the Year is Printella Bankhead. Bankhead is President of EBS Security, Inc., located in Jacksonville, Florida.

The North Florida and SBA State of Florida Small Business Financial Advocate of the Year is David Marovich. Marovich is the Vice President of Business for 121 Financial Credit Union, located in Jacksonville, Florida.

The North Florida and SBA State of Florida Small Business Advocate of the Year is Mike Field. Field is a Senior Analyst with JP Morgan Chase, located in Jacksonville, Florida.

The 2015 State of Florida Small Business Person of the Year is Carol Craig, the President of Craig Technologies, located in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

SBA State of Florida Small Business Woman-Owned Person of the Year is Tina Zambrana.  Zambrana is the President of Pet Stop Clinic located in Miami, Florida.

SBA State of Florida Small Business Veteran Owned Business of the Year is Charles Jenkins.  Jenkins is President of CWU Inc., located in Clearwater, Florida.

The 2015 Small Business Week Award Winners from the Jacksonville area will be recognized at the Annual Small Business Week & Lender Awards Celebration on May 28, 2015 in Jacksonville at the University of North Florida’s University Center from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
