SBA Announces Winners of the 2015 S.C. Small Business & Advocacy Awards

The SBA South Carolina District Office is pleased to announce the winners of the 2015 South Carolina Small Business & Advocacy Awards, including the Small Business Person of the Year. The awards, which are part of SBA's celebration of National Small Business Week, recognize the Palmetto State's top small business entrepreneurs and supporters. Winners will be honored in Columbia on Wednesday, May 6, at South Carolina's own Small Business Week event--the Salute to Small Business.

The following is the full list of 2015 award winners:

Small Business Person of the Year

The Small Business Person of the Year award is part of the national SBA awards program, with winners from all 50 states and four U.S. territories. SBA will announce the national Small Business Person of the Year winner and two runners-up on Friday, May 8.
 
Veteran Entrepreneur of the Year

The South Carolina Veteran Entrepreneur award honors an outstanding small business entrepreneur who has been discharged or released from active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces under honorable conditions.
 
Minority Enterprise Advocate of the Year

The South Carolina Minority Enterprise Advocate award honors an outstanding individual who has significantly advanced minority entrepreneurship in the Palmetto State.
 
Women in Business Advocate of the Year

The South Carolina Women in Business Advocate award honors an outstanding individual who has significantly advanced  female entrepreneurship in the Palmetto State.
 
Small Business Ally of the Year

The South Carolina Small Business Ally award honors a non-profit organization that has made outstanding contributions to the support and advancement of Palmetto State small businesses.
 
Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Excellence and Innovation Award
Rock Hill Area SBDC at Winthrop University (Rock Hill, SC)
 
Part of the SBA's national resource partner awards, the SBDC Excellence and Innovation award honors one SBDC service center in each state for excellence in providing value to small businesses and for innovation in program delivery and management.
 
Note: The Rock Hill SBDC has also been selected as the SBA Region IV award winner.
