SBA Buffalo District Seeks Nominations for Small Business Week 2022

BUFFALO, NY – Do you or someone you know have what it takes to become America’s “Small Business Person of the Year”?  If so, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) wants to hear from you. 

The U.S. Small Business Administration Buffalo District Office is pleased to announce that the SBA is ready to accept nominations for its 2022 National and District Small Business Week Awards, including Small Business Person of the Year.

Visit SBA’s dedicated website www.sba.gov/nsbw to download forms, criteria, and guidelines for submitting a nomination. Additional information on Buffalo District nomination guidelines and district award categories can be found on the NSBW website here.

The SBA Awards given in celebration of National and District Small Business Week include the following:

Buffalo District Small Business Week Categories:

  • Small Business Person of the Year (National and District)
  • Small Business Exporter (National and District)
  • SBA Young Entrepreneur of the Year
  • Minority Small Business Champion or Business of the Year
  • Veteran Small Business Champion or Business of the Year
  • Women in Business Champion or Business of the Year
  • Government Contracting Champion of the Year

According to Buffalo District Director Franklin J. Sciortino, “The SBA works each and every day to meet entrepreneurs where they are and connect them to resources designed to help them succeed.  Each year, National Small Business Week gives us the opportunity to honor entrepreneurs who have, through resiliency, determination and dedication, achieved their success.”

All nominations must be received by the Buffalo District office by electronic submission ONLY via the District’s BOX account, no later 3:00 p.m. on January 11, 2022

The SBA Buffalo District Office serves the Counties of Erie, Niagara, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany, Genesee, Wyoming, Orleans, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Wayne, Seneca, and Yates. All eligible nominees for Buffalo District Office awards must be located in that service area.
