Honolulu, HI – It has been a great year for SBA lending and that’s good news for small business owners.  In Hawaii – and across the country – SBA loans are hitting record levels as borrowers take advantage of streamlined approval procedures, fee waivers on loans under $150,000, and improved economic conditions.  If you’ve wondered if now is the right time to move forward on your next venture or big idea or how to finance it, the “Finding the Funding workshop on Thursday, September 10, can provide the answers to key questions about business financing.

Ask any small business owner and they will tell you that access to capital is among their top concerns. SBA addresses those concerns straight on.  In FY 15, we’ve processed over 650 loans for more than $68 million our district alone,” said Jane Sawyer, SBA District Director.  “Financing fuels growth, creates jobs and economic vitality. Today’s smart business owners need to know all the resources and tools so they are part of that positive environment.  SBA loans can be tailored to the needs of all types of small businesses, can be used for most business purposes and at any stage of the business life.”

Presented by SBA and the Mink Center for Business and Leadership (MCBL), SBA’s Women’s Business Center, the workshop will include interactive discussions on credit factors, application procedures, financing options, packaging your proposal and business plan.  With special breakout groups and Q&A sessions, various financing scenarios and specific business needs will be presented, reviewed and evaluated experts and lenders during the three hour program.  “Finding the Funding” will be presented on Thursday, September 10, 2015, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Hawaii District Office at Waterfront Plaza, 500 Ala Moana, Building 1, Suite 306. The workshop is free and seating is limited.
