FRESNO – During National Women’s History Month in March, the United States Small Business Administration will be celebrating female business owners at two free workshops targeted to women entrepreneurs!  Both men and women business owners are welcome at both events.

On Friday, March 6th from 9:00 am until 11:00 am, the United States Small Business Administration is hosting a free SBA loan workshop.  Entrepreneurs are invited to learn about SBA guaranteed loan programs from small loans for home-based businesses to multi-million dollar real estate and manufacturing transactions.  If you want to apply for an SBA guaranteed loan or have ever considered applying for one, this workshop is a must and will be presented by an experienced SBA loan officer and a female SBA lender who will give attendees the tools they need for a successful loan application.  It will also discuss the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the many tools and resources available to help small business owners determine how to meet the requirements of ACA and address the healthcare coverage needs of their employees.

On Thursday, March 19th from 9:00 am to Noon, business owners are invited to learn more about how being a Women Owned Small Business (WOSB) can give their company a competitive advantage in government contracting!  Hear how a successful Woman small business owner built her company by using her Woman Owned Small Business Certification.

This workshop will include Caltrans representatives who will discuss the State of California’s contracting programs, and a speaker from the California High Speed Rail Authority who will talk about opportunities to do business with them. There will be an overview of SBA’s various contracting programs including the 8(a) Program, HUBZone Program, and SBA Surety Bond Guarantee along with contracting information for Veteran-owned businesses. The workshop will conclude with a Question and Answer session.
