Foreign markets offer significant opportunities for America’s small businesses, as ninety-five percent of the world’s consumers live outside of the United States and represent over two thirds of the world’s purchasing power.  Join the U.S. Small Business Administration’s West Virginia District Office, SCORE, and the U.S. Department of Commerce for a free webinar, Thursday, August 14, 2014, from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. EST, featuring Monika Hussell, attorney in the Intellectual Property Department of Dinsmore & Shohl.

Hussell, who has more than 20 years of experience representing businesses and individuals in intellectual property matters before the US Patent and Trademark Office and the US Copyright Office, reviews how to protect your intellectual property when doing business in other countries. Highlights include best practices for ensuring your company is protected when doing business outside of the United States.

“During recent roundtable events in which I have participated, small business owners have expressed concerns in exporting and protecting their intellectual property,” states SBA’s West Virginia District Director, Judy McCauley. “We are hosting this webinar to help educate the entrepreneurs on how to protect themselves while reaching out to the profitable markets outside of the U.S.”
