BOSTON – SBA Massachusetts has launched its 2015 Emerging Leaders executive-level training program in Boston, according to an announcement made by SBA District Director Robert H. Nelson.

Entering its eighth consecutive year in Massachusetts, the program trains motivated small business owners who want to grow and create jobs. Stats show that businesses that have successfully completed the program have measurably increased their revenue and driven economic development in their local communities.

Director Robert H. Nelson stated, “The Emerging Leaders Initiative is a seven-month intensive ‘mini-MBA’ program for fifteen Boston-based small business owners who want to grow their business and create jobs. The best part is that it’s free for participants accepted into the program.”

The Emerging Leaders Initiative is taught by Interise and hosted at the Harvard Innovation Lab in Allston, Massachusetts from April through November 2015 and consists of:
• 40 hours of classroom time, divided over 13 class sessions
• 14 hours in CEO mentoring groups
• Access to experienced mentors, workshops, and networking opportunities
• Personalized three-year strategic plan for long term growth

The training is provided free of charge to eligible participants. Companies that will benefit the most from the program should be in business for at least three years and have revenues of at least $400,000.

Boston-area small business owners are encouraged to apply. Expressions of interest are due March 1, 2015. The form can be found at www.sba.gov/ma .
