SBA Names 2016 Houston Small Business Person of the Year, Small Business Champions

HOUSTON – The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has named Denise S. Navarro the 2016 District Small Business Person of the Year.  Denise S. Navarro is President and CEO of Logical Innovations, Inc. Logical Innovations, Inc. (LI2) ("LI squared") is an SBA-certified 8(a)/Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) and Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB).  They specialize in Program / Project Management Support Services; Information Technology Support Services; Training Design, Development, and Delivery; Performance Improvement; Customer Service; Conference / Meeting / Outreach Services; Documentation, Data and Configuration Management; Administrative Services and Logistics Management.

This year there are 3 winners that are regional and district winners.  These are the Entrepreneurial Success Award Winner of the Year – Timothy B. Murphy of Gold’s Gym, the Veteran Small Business Champion of the Year – Robert J. Warren of University of Houston Procurement Technical Assistance Center (UH PTAC) and Financial Services Champion of the Year – Marlon Mitchell of Houston Business Development, Inc. (HBDi).  SBA Region 6 includes Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and New Mexico.

National Small Business Week Celebrations will be held around the country May 1-7.  The Houston Small Business Awards Luncheon, sponsored by SCORE Houston, will be held at the Westin Memorial City on May 12, 2016.  The event will kick off at 9 a.m. with two workshops before the luncheon.  For more information about the event, visit www.houston.score.org or call SCORE at (713) 487-6565.
