SBA Offers Free ‘Boots to Business: Reboot’ Entrepreneurial Training Workshop to All Veterans and Their Spouses

EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA– The U.S. Small Business Administration is teaming up with local resource partners to offer a two-day entrepreneurial training class to all veterans looking to start or grow a business at Cedar Crest College in Allentown, May 17-18, 2016. The workshop will cover various business topics including business plan writing, setting up a legal structure, and finding funding.

WHO:  Representatives from U.S. Small Business Administration, Lehigh Valley SCORE, Lehigh University Small Business Development Center, and other local community partners

WHAT: 2-Day “Boots to Business: Re-boot” workshop offered to Veterans, Service members, and their spouses covering various different aspects of how to open a Veteran-Owned small business.

WHEN: May 17-18, 2016 from 8:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m.

Boots to Business: Reboot is a two-day training program that provides participants an overview of business ownership as a career vocation, an outline and knowledge of the components of a business plan, a practical exercise in opportunity recognition, and an introduction to available public and private resources.

This course is eligible to Veterans of all eras, Service members (including National Guard and Reserves) and their spouses. This course is instructed by SBA and its partners who are skilled business advisors. Following the two-day training, participants will be eligible to participant in an eight-week follow-on online Foundations of Entrepreneurship course instructed by a consortium of professors and practitioners led by the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University. Upon completion Boots to Business: Reboot, participants will have the tools and knowledge needed to launch their own businesses.
