SBA Washington Metropolitan Area District Office Announces 2017 Small Business Award Winners
Washington – The U.S. Small Business Administration’s Washington Metropolitan Area District Office (SBA WMADO) is proud to announce the 2017 small business award winners in the categories of Small Business Person of the Year for the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Northern Virginia, as well as 8(a) Graduate of the Year, Small Prime Contractor of the Year and Small Business Subcontractor of Year. We will recognize the accomplishment of the honorees on Wednesday, May 3 at the NTSB Conference Center, L’Enfant Plaza, Washington, DC.
Administrator Linda McMahon, the head of the U.S. Small Business Administration stated, “More than half of all Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create about two out of three net new jobs in the U.S. each year. I couldn’t be prouder of all the awardees this year – they are working to grow small businesses, create 21st century jobs, drive innovation, and increase America’s global competitiveness. It is an honor during National Small Business Week to honor and celebrate their hard work and success”.
“The contributions small businesses make to the economy are significant. These award recipients epitomize the ingenuity and business acumen of the small business sector. Even more, they have demonstrated a strong commitment to provide a quality work environment for their employees.” said Antonio Doss, District Director.
