SBA’s Eastern Pennsylvania District Celebrates National Veterans Small Business Week

EASTERN Pa.– The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) celebrates veteran small business owners nationwide during National Veterans Small Business Week Oct. 31- Nov 4. During NVSBW SBA district offices and resource partners across the U.S. host local events including Boots to Business and Boots to Business: Reboot, webinars, and workshops on access to capital, federal procurement, and entrepreneurial development.

“I encourage active duty, Guard, Reservists, veterans and their family members to take advantage of the many programs we offer through SBA’s Eastern Pennsylvania District Office and our resource partners,” said SBA Mid-Atlantic Regional Administrator Natalia Olson-Urtecho. “We offer these programs year round, but NVSBW is a great opportunity to remind Americans how much we owe to our veterans.”

National Veterans Small Business Week Events In SBA’s Eastern Pennsylvania District:

Oct. 29 - Nov. 6, All Day: Veterans Entrepreneurial Jumpstart Program at St. Joseph’s University, 5600 City Ave, Philadelphia, PA                      

Nov. 2 & 3, 1:30-4 p.m.: Veterans Contracting Program at Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce, 252 W. Swamp Rd, Ste. 23, Doylestown, PA    

Nov. 15, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.: Veterans' Expo and Job Fair in Lancaster, PA at Spooky Nook Sports, 2913 Spooky Nook Drive, Manheim, PA

“Each year, SBA assists thousands of veterans, reservists, and National Guard to start and grow their small businesses. Nearly one in every 10 American businesses today is owned by a veteran, employ nearly six million workers and generate more than $1.2T in receipts,” said Barbara Carson, Associate Administrator for SBA’s Office of Veterans Business Development.

The SBA encourages veteran business owners to share their small business success stories and for local communities to demonstrate appreciation for veterans and small businesses by joining the NVSBW conversation using the #MyVetBiz hashtag.  The two-fold purpose of NVSBW is to applaud the success of veteran entrepreneurs and to increase awareness of SBA’s programs and services for transitioning military service members, veterans and their spouses.
