HARTFORD, CT – Frank X. Hursey, president of Newington-based On Site Gas Systems, has been
named Frankthe U.S. Small Business Administration’s New England Regional Exporter of the Year, according to an announcement made by Bernard Sweeney, SBA Connecticut District Director. On Site Gas won the Connecticut competition and went on to win the regional contest.

“On Site Gas Systems, Inc. is a natural fit for this award,” said Jeanne A. Hulit, SBA’s New England Regional Administrator. “Their systems are used across dozens of industries in over 75 countries to the point where one third of the company’s annual sales come from the international market with major customers in Canada, China, Australia and Brazil.”

“On Site Gas Systems, Inc., is a perfect example of a company that’s committed to providing cost savings and flexibility with consistent leadership and growth over twenty years,” said, SBA Connecticut District Director, Bernie Sweeney.

The Regional Exporter of the Year Award is presented annually to a small business that has significantly increased export sales and profits while encouraging other firms to export, increased jobs through exports, and has provided innovative methods of creating markets. On Site Gas truly defines this criterion with much diversity and versatility in their product lines.

“On Site Gas has been a leader in our region in demonstrating how a small company with innovative products can expand their market and profit from global sales” Said US Dept of Commerce District Director Anne Evans, whom nominated On Site Gas for such award.

Founded in 1987, On Site Gas Systems designs and manufactures equipment that supplies oxygen and nitrogen for use in over 100 applications. Their reach extends in three primary directions. The commercial division provides nitrogen and oxygen solutions used from small shops to high demand corporations. Their portable oxygen division supplies emergency responders and all branches of the U.S. military with medical grade breathing oxygen systems. And the large scale equipment of their field services division delivers high volumes of nitrogen for the oil, gas and mining industries. The company’s philosophy is to keep the process simple, and make the complex process less complex.

Mr. Hursey will be honored along with seven other small business award winners, at an awards breakfast on May 24, 2011 at Amarante’s Sea Cliff in New Haven, CT.
