The U.S. Small Business Administration’s Arkansas District Office and The Generator will jointly host small business workshops in Pine Bluff covering general business, federal contracting, marketing, and sales. The Generator is an innovation hub powered by Go Forward Pine Bluff.

“At The Generator we seek to empower the makers, the doers, and the dreamers, to help them succeed and thrive, and to eliminate barriers in their way,” said Executive Director Mildred Franco at The Generator. “This training will serve them well to improve their business operations.”

The SBA Arkansas District Office Deputy Director David Moody echoed Franco’s enthusiasm that the co-sponsorship provides an excellent opportunity for the organizations to combine efforts to aid small business owners here in the Natural State.

“For any small business owner just starting out or in their early stages of operations, this training will be invaluable in that it will help them market and sell their products and services,” said Moody. “It is important for emerging and existing small business owners to understand all aspects of business ownership and this series will provide knowledge and skills in the areas of marketing, social media, and sales.”

Workshops will be held at Southeast Arkansas College, 1900 Hazel Street in Pine Bluff from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Workshop dates and titles:

Nov. 13      Identifying and Engaging Your Target Market
  Nov. 27      Developing a Marketing/Social Media Strategy
Dec. 11      Nothing Matters Until Somebody Sells Something

"The Generator is expected to have a significant impact on the entrepreneurial and small business landscape throughout Southeast Arkansas,” said  Dr. Ryan Watley, CEO of GFPB, Inc. “The willingness of the U.S. Small Business Administration to engage our organization highlights the confidence Executive Director Franco has been able to generate in a short period of time. Resources afforded through this partnership will enhance the shared vision of assisting aspiring entrepreneurs and small businesses."
