Tantara Corporation Named 8(a) Graduate of the Year

BOSTON –The Small Business Administration (SBA) has named Tantara Corporation the 2019 8(a) Graduate of the Year for Massachusetts and New England.

Tantara Corporation earned the recognition for successfully operating nearly two decades and consistently demonstrating exceptional government client satisfaction. Tantara is a woman-owned environmental, heavy civil and building construction firm. Tantara has performed work for the DoD, industrial clients, utility clients, private companies and municipalities. Tantara has completed projects along the Eastern seaboard and Europe.   

We are excited to recognize Tantara as the 8(a) Graduate of the Year for Massachusetts and New England,said SBA Massachusetts District Director, Robert Nelson.  “Tantara is a perfect example of how powerful the 8(a) program can be with propelling a business to new levels through government contracting work.”                                                                                                             

In 2000, President Dawn Dearborn started Tantara with an SBA-backed line of credit for $100,000 through the former Fleet Bank, now TD Bank.  Tantara currently as a line of credit with TD Bank collateralized only by the accounts receivable of the firm and a $95M bonding capacity.  Today, Tantara has over 45 employees and continues growing geographically and in breadth of services.  90% of Tantara’s business is from repeat customers and due to their focus on safety and client satisfaction.

Dearborn currently serves as the President of the Boston Post for the Society of American Military Engineers.  The firm also gives back to several causes and charities including: Ladies of Liberty, Veteran’s Administration, Wounded Warrior Project, and the American Red Cross.

Dawn Dearborn, President/CEO will be honored at the annual SCORE Boston / SBA awards luncheon along with other 2019 Massachusetts Small Business Week winners at Assumption College on Wednesday, May 8th, 2019.
