Virginia firms welcomed into SBA Richmond District Office’s 8a Business Development Program

RICHMOND, Va. ­­– The U.S. Small Business Administration’s Richmond District Office welcomed nine firms into the 8a Business Development Program during an orientation meeting to set expectations at the Richmond Federal Building June 26, 2015.


“We welcome these firms into the program because we believe they will take advantage of this opportunity to diversify and grow their business,” said Carl Knoblock, SBA Richmond District Office Director. “The program gets them a foot in the door, but it is up to them to push the door open further. The plan is to graduate strong businesses at the end of their nine year term in the program.”

The following companies were recently accepted into the program:

Clearances Unlimited, LLC, Stafford

G2 Global Solutions, LLC, Haymarket

SD Solutions, LLC, Luray

Virginia Energy and Lighting, LLC, Chesterfield

Integrity Construction Services, LLC, Gainesville

WareService, LLC, Stafford

TSC Management, LLC dba Productive AV, Richmond

Timitron Corporation, Chesapeake

Applied Identity Solutions, LLC, Fredericksburg


The program’s goal is to graduate 8(a) firms that will go on to thrive in a competitive business environment by having a balance between commercial and government business. It is divided into two phases over nine years: a four-year developmental stage and a five-year transition stage. SBA provides guidance during each stage to help these firms stay on track achieve the goals. Additionally, participants can receive sole-source contracts, form joint ventures and participate in a mentor-protégé program.
