John D. Veal, Jr.

John D. Veal, Jr. is the Deputy District Director for the Oklahoma District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Veal returned to the Oklahoma office in May 2015 after serving as Supervisory Business Opportunity Specialist for the Richmond District Office since 2013.  Veal previously worked for the Oklahoma District Office as a Business Opportunity Specialist and Veterans Affairs Officer.
Prior to joining the U.S. Small Business Administration, Veal served as the Defense Military Pay Officer at Fort Polk, Louisiana and Fort Sill, Oklahoma.  Veal was also a Business Coordinator with the Oklahoma Small Business Development Center (OSBDC).  While with the OSBDC he received recognition from U.S. Small Business Administration Region VI and the Oklahoma District Office as the Veteran’s Small Business Champion of the Year.   
Veal holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from Oklahoma City University.  He has received the recognition of Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) from the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council (UPPCC).    He has also holds the Level I Contracting Certification from the Federal Acquisition Institute.  Veal retired from the U.S. Army in 1995 at the rank of First Sergeant, having served for more than 23 years.  He is a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
