Advocacy to Host Regulatory Roundtable in Glen Allen, Virginia

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Monday October 16th, the Office of Advocacy of the Small Business Administration will host a roundtable in Glen Allen, Virginia. Advocacy is hosting this Regional Roundtable at the request of U.S. House Small Business committee member, Rep. Dave Brat. He is the Chairman of the Small Business Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access. Congressman Brat will be attending the roundtable, which will be located at 4201 Dominion Blvd. The roundtable will start at 9:30 a.m. and conclude at noon.

The purpose of this event is to gain valuable insight into which specific federal regulatory burdens present the biggest barriers to small business growth. With these recommendations, Advocacy can better assist federal agencies in complying with President Trump’s directives to reduce burdensome regulations. Additionally, information compiled from this roundtable and others will help Advocacy generate a new report informing Congress and the public of the top regulatory issues for small businesses.

“As an economics professor and member of the House Small Business Committee, I know regulatory reform is a huge component of achieving lasting economic growth,” said Congressman Brat. “This important event will give businesses a venue to share with members of the SBA Office of Advocacy what is helping and hurting their ability to hire and expand. I look forward to meeting with small businesses in Virginia’s 7th Congressional District and hearing their stories. Together we can work to identify solutions to reduce unnecessary government red tape, spur economic growth, and create jobs and wage growth opportunities for the next generation.”

This event is free and open to the public. However, space is limited. If you would like to attend, please register at:
