We're always hearing about the best places in the U.S. for entrepreneurial opportunity. From surveys to Census data, hubs of innovation and so-called-small business friendl- conurbations are constantly popping up somewhere on the map.

But no matter which locale you set your sights on, how do you know if i's going to be the right fit?

This was very helpful. Location is critical to success especially if one is in retail. If work is more online based then location may not be as important. Though the need for skilled workers is still important. NYS has such an abundance of talent, esp tech talent I feel good about business prospects in the state. And the new Start Up program is especially exciting in offering tax credits for up to 10 years I think. Wonderful opportunity to grow a small business.
Excellent tip..
On a more micro level, choosing the right location in your town or city is critical to success. There is an office complex near my home that is constantly turning over it's tenants. When you choose a location, stop and ask yourself why it is available. If you are in retail or sales, the wrong location could be the death of your business.

Do you rise or fall How much time spent in the market Is the nature of their aggressive or civilized Is working on the development of their services ? What are the strengths and weaknesses in their management ?
