To make services accessible to small business owners everywhere, SBA has a network of programs and resource partners located across the country. Services available include free counseling, advice, and information on starting and managing a business delivered through the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE), the Office of Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs), the Women’s Business Centers, and SBA district offices located in every state.</p>
LaTanya Channel represents SBA as the Director of SBA’s Tennessee Office. With a staff based in Nashville, the Tennessee District facilitates loans to small businesses through lending institutions; advocates federal government contracting for all small businesses; and works with local communities in all 95 Tennessee counties on entrepreneurial development and growth opportunities.
John M. Garcia is the District Director of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) New Mexico District Office. Garcia is responsible for the statewide delivery of SBA programs and services to the 33 counties in the state. He supports business owners in starting and growing their businesses, creating jobs and developing local economies throughout New Mexico.
Stacey Poynter is the District Director for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Indiana District located in the state capital, Indianapolis. As District Director, Poynter is responsible for the delivery of SBA programs throughout Indiana.
Poynter joined the SBA in 2008 as a Lender Relations Specialist where he had the opportunity to educate and assist banks providing SBA loans to their clients. He has also served as a Lead Lender Relations Specialist and Deputy District Director. In December of 2014, Poynter was promoted to the position of Indiana District Director.
Carl started as the district director for Virginia in June 2014. Prior to arriving in Virginia, he served as the district director for the Western Pennsylvania District Office for 8 years. Under his leadership, his team have helped a wide variety of businesses.
Carl is very active in mentoring businesses and volunteering in his spare time. He has been an adjunct instructor for several colleges and has served as an advisor to several nonprofit organizations.
