Since October 2008, small businesses can self-represent their status as a small disadvantaged business (SDB).

You do not have to submit an application to SBA for SDB status.

To self-represent as an SDB, register your business in the System for Award Management. However, you and your firm must still understand the SBA eligibility criteria for SDBs.  Generally, this means that:

BOSTON –The Small Business Administration (SBA) has named SCS Building Maintenance the 2018 8(a) Graduate of the Year for Massachusetts and New England.

MILWAUKEE– The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA Wisconsin  District Office announced today the opening of a new Women’s Business Center in Appleton with  an anticipated June opening.  The new center, hosted by the Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC), will have the mission of helping women entrepreneurs start and grow small businesses.  The new center will provide assistance and resources to entrepreneurs in northeastern Wisconsin.

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Small Business Administration will present a six-part, free webinar series to help small businesses navigate its Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Zone Program that will run from February to mid-March. 

The hour-long webinars will cover the following topics:

HUBZone Contracting:  Make the Federal Government Your Customer

Time:-2 p.m. CST

Small businesses will learn about HUBZone contracting vehicles and regulations.
