WASHINGTON – Ninety-two nonprofit organizations from around the country received $8 million in grants from the U.S. Small Business Administration to help low-income and very low-income entrepreneurs with training and technical assistance to start, operate and grow their businesses. The grants, delivered under the Program for Investment in Microentrepreneurs (PRIME), also will provide capacity-building services to microenterprise development entities to strengthen the quality of their programs.

WASHINGTON – The U. S. Small Business Administration is offering new, free tools for new and established small business exporters to help them grow and succeed in international trade. Small businesses will now have access to six-part podcast series, an introduction to exporting Youtube video and an online training course.

SBA is making these new tools available as part of the World Trade Week celebrations taking place May 17-21 nationwide to raise awareness of the increasing importance of international trade to the nation’s economy.

WASHINGTON – Eight new Veterans Business Outreach Centers (VBOCs) funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration will join seven existing SBA centers to provide entrepreneurial development services to eligible military veterans and reservists who own or start small businesses. SBA is providing a total of $2.5 million in grants to the centers, continuing funding to the existing centers, and new funding for the new centers.

MILWAUKEE– The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA Wisconsin  District Office announced today the opening of a new Women’s Business Center in Appleton with  an anticipated June opening.  The new center, hosted by the Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC), will have the mission of helping women entrepreneurs start and grow small businesses.  The new center will provide assistance and resources to entrepreneurs in northeastern Wisconsin.

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Small Business Administration announced the launch of the 2018 Emerging Leaders initiative for executives of small businesses poised for growth in emerging markets.  Local area recruitment for the 2018 training cycle is currently ongoing at designated SBA District Offices, including Wichita. Classes are scheduled to begin this spring with specific dates differing by location.
