WASHINGTON – Ninety-two nonprofit organizations from around the country received $8 million in grants from the U.S. Small Business Administration to help low-income and very low-income entrepreneurs with training and technical assistance to start, operate and grow their businesses. The grants, delivered under the Program for Investment in Microentrepreneurs (PRIME), also will provide capacity-building services to microenterprise development entities to strengthen the quality of their programs.
WASHINGTON – The U. S. Small Business Administration is offering new, free tools for new and established small business exporters to help them grow and succeed in international trade. Small businesses will now have access to six-part podcast series, an introduction to exporting Youtube video and an online training course.
SBA is making these new tools available as part of the World Trade Week celebrations taking place May 17-21 nationwide to raise awareness of the increasing importance of international trade to the nation’s economy.
WASHINGTON – Eight new Veterans Business Outreach Centers (VBOCs) funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration will join seven existing SBA centers to provide entrepreneurial development services to eligible military veterans and reservists who own or start small businesses. SBA is providing a total of $2.5 million in grants to the centers, continuing funding to the existing centers, and new funding for the new centers.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – As part of National Small Business Week (May 4-8), the U.S. Small Business Administration and co-sponsors will be hosting numerous training webinars from May 4-7. The webinars cover a variety of common business topic areas regarding pay, digital footprints, new chip card payment technologies, benefits packages, and online payment strategies.
The SBA's Wichita District Office will host another Emerging Leaders program for business executives starting in early April. The Emerging Leaders Initiative is an intensive seven month training course that specifically focuses on the professional development of executives of '2nd stage' businesses poised for growth in Kansas.
