ATLANTA – The U.S. Small Business Administration announced today certain Private Non-Profit Organizations that do not provide critical services of a governmental nature may be eligible to apply for low interest rate disaster loans.  These loans are available following a Presidential disaster declaration for Public Assistance resulting from damages caused by severe storms and flooding on
April 15-18, 2014.

MONTPELIER, Vt. – The 2014 Vermont Small Business Awards Ceremony is from 4 to 7 p.m. June 17 at the Shelburne Museum Pizzagalli Center.

Governor Peter Shumlin will present Vermont Small Business Person of the Year to Bill Cherry and Jeff Neiblum, owners of Switchback Brewing Co.

Previous Vermont Small Business Person of the Year recipients include Ben and Jerry’s, Vermont Teddy Bear Company and Dealer.com. The Small Business Administration Vermont District Office has awarded Small Business Person of the Year annually since 1967.

WASHINGTON –The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) issued an interim final rule that will adjust monetary based small business size standards (i.e., receipts, assets, net worth and income) for inflation to allow more small businesses to become eligible for SBA’s financial and federal government procurement assistance programs.  The interim final rule was published in the Federal Register today.


PHILADELPHIA – The U.S. Small Business Administration’s Philadelphia District Office celebrates its 2014 Small Business Week Award Winners at the annual “SBA Day at the Ballpark” event on June 12. SBA mid-Atlantic Regional Administrator Natalia Olson-Urtecho and Philadelphia District Director David Dickson present the awards with Philadelphia’s NBC10 anchor and consumer reporter Tracy Davidson The event is open to the media.
