I work in human services and counsel d.v. victims. I am considering opening a hair salon that could create a revenue source to help individuals escape their perpetrator and rebuild their lives. I'd need to find hairdressers that are not only great at what they do, but empathetic to the experience of women and men who have been victimized. I'd like the stylists to appreciate 'The Mission' I have beyond allowing the hairstylist to be creative. I believe all people deserve a great salary. I don't know if the salon should book the appointments and pay the hairdressers or if booth rental is the way to go. I live in Columbia County, NY (about 30 minutes from Albany, NY). I don't really know how to start. Perhaps I can open the business in my multiple-zoned building where my practice is. It is located close to a mega shopping center (Lowe's and Walmart). I do not want to pursue a franchise. I am willing to take reasonable risks. I've done so my whole life and have not suffered but thrived well as a result. Please help. Sylvia
