I wanted to get others thoughts on VC's, I personally have never used a venture capitalist or borrowed money in starting any of my businesses. I think part of what have made my businesses successful is the drive that goes with not having a backup or chunk of money sitting there. I think its crucial for any business owner to go through the blood sweet and tears of starting a business before being handed a chunk of money. I see far too many people with a "business idea" looking for money. While I do agree there are times when raising money are necessary and good, but until you have been in the fox hole and know what you need that money for I don't think its necessary. I've started 3 different companies all that have done over 7 figures in revenue without a drop of outside money. Many people have the notion that they can start a business get a bunch of funding and sit back and watch the business grow, this is the exception and not the rule.
