Thomas Topuzes is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Thomas Topuzes & Associates, LLC, a business consulting firm with offices in El Centro, CA and clients located in the United States and Mexico.
Business consulting activities include strategic planning, business management, government and public affairs, real estate development, renewable energy, economic development, international trade and board governance. Tom Topuzes experience includes holding executive management positions at Valley Independent Bank, El Centro; First International Bank, Chula Vista; and Great American Savings Bank, San Diego. He was the founder, organizer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Community Valley Bank, El Centro.
Tom was Regional Administrator, U. S. Small Business Administration - Region IX (California, Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii and the Pacific Islands) in San Francisco, CA and was Deputy Director and Counsel for the Governor’s Office, Office of Economic Opportunity in Sacramento, CA.
Tom serves on the Board of Trustees of National University System; Board of Directors of CDC Small Business Finance Corporation; Imperial Valley Economic Development Corporation (IVEDC); Boys and Girls Clubs of Imperial Valley; San Diego-Imperial County Council, Boys Scouts of America; and the North American Education Foundation. He is Chair of IVEDC International Committee. Tom is the Chair of the U.S. Department of Commerce San Diego-Imperial District Export Council and is a member of the U.S.-Mexico Border District Export Council. He is a member and past president of the Kiwanis Club of El Centro. Tom is a member of Lambda Alpha International San Diego Chapter.
Tom has an Associate in Arts degree in Business Management, a Bachelor of Arts degree in finance, economics and psychology and Juris Doctor degree. He is a member of the California State Bar. Tom was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force.
