Our most popular free workshop. Purpose of the workshop will be to create perspective on the task of starting a business. Topics include: Myths and Realities of Entrepreneurship, Business Investment Options, and Business Basics. Intent is to be interactive, encouraging dialogue with attendees. SCORE Counselors will review the different types of Corporate Structures, Cash Manangement and Operating Capital requirements. Additional topics and more customized recommendations will be provided in follow-up individualized mentoring meetings. This seminar is designed to demonstrate to participants both the risks and benefits of starting your own business. A small business entrepreneur "self assessment" will be included in the discussion. SCORE counselors will provide you with a process roadmap which includes one on one mentoring every step of the way. In this session you will learn what it takes to be an Entrepreneur along with the Basics required to start your business. Topics to be discussed include: - How to explore options and possibilities - An appreciation of the challenges ahead - Realization of the risks - Assessment of the benefits - Planning the next steps Instruction includes active participation and discussion among attendees.
