With the help of her husband and daughters – as well as periodic guidance from SBA-backed SCORE and SBA-backed financing through Wilmington Economic Development Corporation (“WEDCO”)– Gooding built the business into an acclaimed dance studio, guiding and deftly restructuring it through her husband’s 2009 death and the challenge of The Great Recession. Today, Gooding operates the studio with her two daughters working in the business as choreographer and business manager, respectively, and New Castle Dance Academy is poised for its next expansion.
