Opening Doors to Government Contracting Conference

Not sure how to sell your products or services to the government? Minority and women entrepreneurs are invited to the “Opening Doors to Government Contracting” conference held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on May 20 at the SUNY IT Student Center in Marcy, NY. The conference is presented by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Syracuse District Office, Mohawk Valley Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Procurement Assistance Center, NYS Women’s Business Center, North Country Procurement Technical Assistance Center, and Utica SCORE.

“Opening Doors to Government Contracting” will provide key information, resources and practical advice on how to do business with federal, state, and local agencies. The half-day conference includes presentations from procurement resource specialists and successful business owners that are currently selling to the government, including Black Horse Group, Trex Planning Associates, and ROI Office Interiors. 

Procurement resource specialists will present specific government procurement programs and certifications for minority and women entrepreneurs. Participants will be able to attend two of six concurrent workshops that will cover federal contracting, federal certifications, WOSB certification, NYS MWBE certification, and contracting opportunities with Oneida County and the cities of Utica and Rome.
