Outdoor Venture Corporation Selected as SBA National Small Business Success Story
KENTUCKY - The U.S. Small Business Administration selected Outdoor Venture Corporation, located in Sterns, KY, as one of just 10 SBA small business success stories from across the United States to be featured in the SBA 2013 Fall National Resource Guide.
Co-founder J.C. Egnew, a former NASA rocket test engineer, currently serves as Chairman and President of Outdoor Venture Corporation (OVC). Mr. Egnew has founded four manufacturing facilities and created over 1,000 jobs in the southeastern area of Kentucky, one of the poorest regions in the entire country. OVC has leveraged its growth by using SBA loans as well as the SBA HUBZone certification programs and contracting opportunities.
Today, OVC is a prime supplier and subcontractor of “critical next-generation military tent systems, components and accessories” for the United States Department of Defense. According to its website, since 1984 OVC has delivered more than $260 million worth of military tents on over 140 government contracts and has received numerous awards for its innovative design changes.
