Robin Jones of East Falmouth receives SBA Massachusetts and New England 2013 Home-Based Business Owner of the Year Award
Boston, MA – Robin Jones, owner of Friendship Garden Nursery School in East Falmouth has been selected as the SBA 2013 Home-Based Business Owner of the Year Award for Massachusetts and New England, according to an announcement made today by Robert Nelson, the Massachusetts District Director for the U.S. Small Business Administration.
This outstanding business was selected based on the following criteria: growth in net worth, sales and number of employees over the last three years, response to adversity, contributions to the community, and demonstrated creativity and/or commitment to a social mission in hiring policy. Ms. Jones was nominated for this award by Mary Bernardo, Branch Manager of Eastern Bank in East Falmouth.
Robin Jones bought the school and the property formerly known as The Little Red School House in 1995, and she was also a former employer from 1986-1995. The school provides top quality educational service for children aged two years and nine months up through kindergarten. Her dedicated four staff members make the Friendship Garden the success that it is.
“Congratulations to Robin on this award that honors her outstanding contributions to the Falmouth community in the service that she provides on a daily basis,” said Director Nelson. “As the nominator stated, ‘Robin is the heart of the business.’ Going from employee - to business owner - to a successful, profitable business - is a remarkable accomplishment.”
She will be honored along with other 2013 award winners at an annual SBA awards celebration in June.
