SBA Helps Bucks County Entrepreneurs Become ‘Business Smart’

EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA The U.S. Small Business Administration Eastern Pennsylvania District Office will offer its free “Business Smart” half-day business education workshop to new and aspiring entrepreneurs in Bucks County and surrounding communities in April. The free event is Thursday, April 14, 9:15 to 11:45 a.m. at Bucks County Community College, Upper Campus, Perkasie and will be repeated on Thursday, April 28 at the same time and location. The workshop, held by PA CareerLink Bucks County, will lay the ground work for helping participants launch a business idea.

Sonia Smith, SBA Economic Development Specialist; Madaline Diane, Workshop Facilitator, CareerLink Bucks County; Bob Latshaw, VP, Penn Community Bank; Rob Mineo, Financing Assistance Program Director, Lehigh University Small Business Development Center; Emily Stull, Project Coordinator, The Rising Tide Community Loan Fund; and representatives from SCORE Bucks County will lead the program.

“SBA is committed to making our communities economically stronger,” said Antonio (Tony) Leta, Director of SBA’s Eastern Pennsylvania District. “Business Smart is a business education workshop developed by the U.S. Small Business Administration and the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders. The program will proactively educate and empower Bucks County businesses and entrepreneurs about how to turn their idea into reality.”

WHAT: FREE “Business Smart” workshop for new and aspiring entrepreneurs in Bucks County and surrounding communities. Participants will learn the basics of business startup, the essentials of becoming credit-ready, and how and where to find additional small business support and education resources in their local community.

WHEN: Thursday, April 14, 9:15 to 11:45 a.m. The program will be repeated on Thursday, April 28, 9:15 to 11:45 a.m.

WHERE: Bucks County Community College, Upper Campus, 1 Hillendale Road, Room 153, Perkasie, PA 18944.
