SBA Miami District Office Supports Veteran-Owned Business Efforts at Local Supplier Day, Nov. 15
MIAMI – The U.S. Small Business Administration South Florida District Office will participate in a Veteran’s Supplier Day event hosted by NBCUniversal and Telemundo on Thurs., Nov. 15 at Doral Golf Resort and Spa, from 11 a.m-2 p.m.
SBA South Florida Assistant District Director for Marketing and Outreach, Area 1 Althea Harris will make a short presentation on SBA’s programs and services to support entrepreneurship for veterans, service-disabled veterans, reservists and their family members or survivors. SBA representatives will also be on hand to work one-on-one with veteran business owners attending the event.
“Florida ranks 3rd for the greatest number of veteran-owned businesses, so there are great opportunities to partner with a veteran-owned business in south Florida,” said SBA South Florida District Director Francisco “Pancho” Marrero. “America's veterans deserve every opportunity possible to benefit from resources that could help them build successful small businesses and create jobs."
The NBCUniversal and Telemundo Veteran Supplier Day event in Doral is one of four events sponsored nationwide during the week of Nov. 13. The event seeks to pair veteran-owned businesses that have experience in the entertainment industry and with the private sector with buyers from NBCUniversal and Telmundo.
