“Veteran business owners and entrepreneurs like Sam Coyl make vital and important contributions to business creation and growth in the American economy,” said Dave Dickson, U.S. SBA Philadelphia district director. “Active duty and reserve service often provides veterans with important skills and leadership abilities that are directly relevant to business ownership, and Sam Coyl’s success with Netrepid is a great example of that.”
Sam Coyl, president of Netrepid, founded the Enola, Pa., company in 2004 as a team with knowledge of professional services, wireless engineering and converged communication systems. Netrepid is a professional services company focused on business-class IT solutions. Through the years, Netrepid has designed and built solutions for a large variety of industries including healthcare, finance, education, and government.
“This region of Pennsylvania has some great opportunities for entrepreneurs to affect change and progress by putting technology to work, and this award validates that,” said Coyl. “I’d like to thank everyone that put in the hard work involved in nominating me for this honor, it was incredibly generous.”
Today Netrepid continues to evolve, offering cloud hosted services, colocation, data backup and infrastructure management solutions to mid-market and enterprise-level organizations and for colleagues in the IT services industry. The company also offers a partner program allowing them to leverage the Netrepid’s cloud for their own line of services. Netrepid has grown from two employees to 12 and has seen improved gross profit levels, an improved asset base and the successful attraction of investors, loans and funding from Ben Franklin Technology partners and SBA-backed Patriot Express and 7(a) loans.
Coyl was nominated by Melissa N. McLaughlin, Director of Business Finance, Harrisburg Regional Chamber of Commerce & CREDC.
“It was an honor to nominate Sam for our region’s Veteran Small Business Person of the Year award,” said McLaughlin. “Sam demonstrates a determination, vision and leadership befitting not only his Marine Corps brotherhood, but which are required for all successful entrepreneurs.”
