To be nominated and receive one of the following local awards, the small business nominee must fit within the category of the award, demonstrate success in business and complete and submit the required nomination package information. Incomplete packages will not be accepted.

Minority Owned Small Business of the Year
A minority-owned small business owner who has experienced the rewards and difficulties of owning their own business.
Veteran Owned Small Business of the Year
A veteran small business owner who has experienced the rewards and difficulties of owning their own business.
Woman Owned Small Business of the Year
A woman-owned small business owner who has experienced the rewards and difficulties of owning their own business.
Innovation (SBIR/STTR) Recipient of the Year
A business that has successfully applied for and won one or more SBIR/STTR R&D awards and used this funding to commercialize a product.
Small Business Media Advocate of the Year
An outstanding journalist from television, radio, web, electronic or print media whose work supports the growth and expansion of small businesses in the Houston District.
Small Business Community Partner of the Year
A certified non-profit, chamber, or other organizations whose primary mission is to help entrepreneurs start or grow their businesses.
Rural Entrepreneur of the Year
Any small business owner that has operated successfully for the last three years in a community of 50,000 people or less (or is considered rural).
