Do you want to become a confident speaker and strong leader? If so, Toastmasters is the place for you. You’ll find a supportive learn-by-doing environment that allows you to achieve your goals at your own pace. Toastmasters International has a global network of 16,400 clubs in 141 countries. There is no instructor in a Toastmasters meeting. The club has elected club officers present and a Toastmaster who facilitates the meeting. The Baywood Club meets 12-1 pm every Thursday. You are not obligated to speak when visiting a club; you may simply observe if you wish. Once joining the club, members pay international dues of $45 USD every six months plus $12 to the club every six months to cover incidental expenses. All new members also pay a one-time $20 fee. Education is an important part of every Toastmaster’s journey, and it is a critical aspect of all club meetings around the world. Develop and practice communication and leadership skills in the safe, supportive environment of your club, working through projects and assignments that enable you to build real–world skills in a variety of disciplines. Learn at your own pace in a proven curriculum that was built on four guiding principles that have been in place since Toastmasters was founded in 1924. By giving speeches and fulfilling leadership roles, you practice and improve. Grow and improve through honest and supportive peer oral evaluations. As you complete different projects, you earn credentials--such as Competent Communicator, Competent Leader, Advanced Communicator, Advanced Leader.
