This workshop focuses on Intellectual Property Rights with special reference to patents. This course is designed for inventors, entrepreneurs, and those who would like to learn more about patents. No knowledge of the patent system is required.
You will learn:
• How patents protect your intellectual property and what rights they confer
• What to expect in the patent application process
• How long it might take to obtain a patent
• How much it might cost to obtain a patent
• Why international patents matter
• The free web search engines you can use to discover if your invention has already been patented
• If AI can impact your intellectual property from a business perspective
Speaker: Harvey Hoffman
While in industry, Dr. Hoffman held positions ranging from research and development engineer, group manager, project manager to general manager. In aerospace, he worked on the space shuttle and the Titan rocket. He holds a patent for a Digital Scan Converter Employing an Accelerated Scan. He is the author of project management and capstone project books and more than twenty academic and technical papers. He teaches engineering management courses at Fairfield University.
