The IRS encourages everyone to have their tax information ready when filing a 2022 federal tax return. The IRS Get Ready campaign focuses on what actions to take before filing and what you need to know to make tax filing easier for your 2023 return.  Changes like no new stimulus payments and the return of some tax credits to 2019 levels may affect your tax-filing status or refund. Even if you have an extension to file, filing sooner will result in receiving your refund quicker and can save you money by avoiding additional interest and penalties.
