About the presenters:
Leslie Chambers
Leslie Chambers is a Senior Stakeholder Liaison with the Internal Revenue Service. She represents the IRS at educational and taxpayer outreach events working with tax professionals, industry associations, small business owners, as well as underrepresented communities.
Leslie has been employed with the IRS since March 1988 - eight years as a Tax Examiner, eight years as a Collections Contact Rep, three years as a Quality Analyst, twelve years as a Practitioner Priority Service Supervisor, and the last year in Communication & Liaison.
Leslie holds a bachelor’s degree from Temple University with a major in Accounting and an MBA from Rosemont College.
Richard Furlong
Mr. Furlong is a Senior Stakeholder Liaison in the Area 2 Stakeholder Liaison office of the Internal Revenue Service Communications & Liaison Division. Stakeholder Liaison serves as the primary IRS liaison office to tax practitioner and small business organizations throughout the country.
Each year, Mr. Furlong represents IRS at many face-to-face seminars and online webinars where he discusses IRS policies and procedures, tax law updates, data security issues for tax professionals, and emerging areas of tax administration. In 2018 he served on a detail assignment to the IRS C& L Technical Communications Branch where he assisted with the development and implementation of the IRS communications and outreach strategy for various provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA). Mr. Furlong has delivered small business seminars and webinars in collaboration with various organizations including the PA SBA, Women’s Business Enterprise Center-East, Asian-American Small Business Chamber of Commerce, Philadelphia Enterprise Center and SCORE chapters.
Mr. Furlong is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.
