SBA-backed loan from Firstrust helps Country Food, LLC get started

Eastern Pa.– The U.S. Small Business Administration holds a ribbon-cutting celebration March 7 at 10 a.m. to mark the launch of Country Food, LLC, a USDA-certified food manufacturing plant focused on store brand and co-pack/co-manufacturing of cultured dairy products, particularly yogurt, at 937 Nixon Dr., Mechanicsburg, PA. Media are invited to attend.

Country Food, LLC is a three-member partnership between Mesut Baysal, Dr. Erdogan Ceylan and Birol Gule, devoted to providing quality Greek yogurt and like products to the consumer. The partners have brought their knowledge and experience, through their family heritage as well as their manufacturing expertise, to the Mechanicsburg, Pa. area.

“America’s small businesses are the engine of our economy. They create two out of three net new private sector jobs and half of all working Americans either own or work for a small business,” said Michael Kane, SBA Eastern District Deputy Director. “It is so wonderful to see entrepreneurs from communities all across eastern Pennsylvania, like Country Food, LLC, who have followed their American dream and are creating a stronger economy across our nation.”

“After renovation of the property and purchase of the equipment, the partners needed working capital to finish their dream of bringing high quality Greek products to the Mid-Atlantic region. Firstrust Bank recognized their strengths and were able to extend them a $295,000 SBA 7(a) loan to assist in their start-up and initial production,” said Carl Bieber, SBA Finance Department Director of Business Development, Firstrust Bank. “Their product will soon be available to the general public and they are under contract with several private-label entities.”

"SBA’s 7(a) loan program, in participation with our lending partner Firstrust Bank, makes projects like this one possible," said Kane. "At SBA our mission is to help small businesses start, grow and succeed. We are pleased to be able to help businesses like Country Food, LLC start their business."

“We were given Carl’s name by our consultant for an SBA loan,” said Baysal. “Carl immediately visited our facility and started the process with us. He explained which type of loan would suit our needs best and ‘held our hand,’ so to speak, through the whole process with Firstrust – up to and including settlement. Carl has a caring approach and he is a true professional. Thanks to Carl’s prompt response, Country Food LLC was able to complete the transaction.”

SBA's Eastern Pennsylvania District Office helps small businesses start, grow and succeed in the 40 eastern counties of Pennsylvania. The SBA 7(a) loan program is a powerful and flexible loan program that offers small businesses another avenue for business financing, while promoting business growth, and job creation.
