SBA Names Eastern Pennsylvania 2017 National Small Business Week Award Winners

EASTERN Pa. – The U.S. Small Business Administration’s Eastern Pennsylvania District Office announces its 2017 Small Business Week Award Winners and will visit and recognize award winners during the first week of May. SBA will also recognize Small Business Week Award Winners during its annual “SBA Awards” and networking event May 24 at 4:30 p.m. at the Manor House at Prophecy Creek Park, 205 West Skippack Pike (Rte. 73), Ambler, Pa. 19002. Media are invited.

“Each year SBA recognizes the local, state and national award winners of its Presidentially-designated National Small Business Week to celebrate the achievements of small business and its advocates in eastern Pennsylvania,” said Director Antonio (Tony) Leta, SBA Eastern Pennsylvania District. “The award winners being honored have truly distinguished themselves and represent the very best that the eastern Pennsylvania small business community has to offer.”

The “SBA Awards” networking event will begin at 4:30 p.m. on May 24 with the awards ceremony followed by dinner and networking at the Manor House at Prophecy Creek Park, 205 West Skippack Pike (Rte. 73), Ambler, Pa. 19002.

Businesses being honored at the Eastern Pennsylvania Small Business Awards events:

  • Pennsylvania District Small Business Person of the Year: Elvin E. Stoltzfus, President; Pik Rite Inc., Lewisburg, Pa.; nominated by Steven Stumbris, Director, Bucknell University Small Business Development Center.
  • Pennsylvania Small Business Development Center Excellence and Innovation Award: Shippensburg University Small Business Development Center, Shippensburg, Pa.; Michael Unruh, Director, Shippensburg University Small Business Development Center; nominated by Christian Conroy, State Director, Pennsylvania Small Business Development Centers Network.
  • Eastern Pennsylvania Small Business Exporter of the Year Award: Greener Ways, LLC, Yardley, Pa.; Sharon Neiburg, Owner and Alan Neiburg, President; nominated by Dan Yocum, Univest Bank and Trust Co.

Every year since 1963 SBA takes the opportunity to highlight the impact of outstanding entrepreneurs, small business owners, and others from across the nation through National Small Business Week. This year’s National Small Business Week will be held during the week of April 30 to May 6.

During National Small Business Week, the U.S. Small Business Administration will recognize and award outstanding small business owners from around the country. Additionally, recognition and educational events throughout SBA’s 10 Regions and 68 Districts will be held throughout the week. As events are finalized more details will be posted on www.sba.gov/NSBW.
