MINNEAPOLIS – Two Bettys Green Cleaning Company in Minneapolis has been named the Women-Owned Small Business of the Year in Minnesota by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Chosen for her business acumen and commitment to her employees and community, owner Anna Tsantir is a business owner, mother of two, and creator. Combining the things she believes in – art, social/eco justice, and supporting the community she lives and works in – Tsantir and her late business partner, Sam Meyers, founded Two Bettys Green Cleaning Company in 2007.

Two Bettys provides high-quality, eco-friendly green cleaning services to residential and small commercial clients by providing a unique brand of individualized service that is always dependable and discreet. It serves Minneapolis, St. Paul, Golden Valley, Saint Louis Park, and Edina, Minnesota.

Two Bettys has experienced growth and increased sales every year since it was founded. As a service-based business, finding the right people and supporting them is a constant challenge. As a recruiting and retention incentive, Two Bettys offers progressive wages, flexible hours, peer mentoring/training, and more.

Independent by nature, Tsantir is the daughter of an immigrant, as well as two successful entrepreneurs. She has been the sole owner of Two Bettys since 2013, when her business partner and co-founder, Sam Meyers, passed away. This was a challenge structurally and emotionally for the entire company, but especially for Tsantir. With help from SBA’s resource partner WomenVenture, including its Scale Up! Program and business coaching, she was able to confidently take charge of all aspects of the business. An SBA revolving line of credit has also proven beneficial for growth.

Now a mother of two young boys, Tsantir is even more motivated to grow the company and align it more closely with social enterprise goals. Two Bettys currently employs over 100 people and is committed to being a socially and environmentally responsible, for-profit business.

The SBA, along with the SCORE Association and the Small Business Development Center, will honor Anna Tsantir at the Minnesota Small Business Week Awards luncheon on May 4, 2017, at the Marriott Minneapolis Northwest in Brooklyn Park, Minn.

Registration is open for the event until April 30, 2017 at http://conta.cc/2ns07WA.
