Small Business Administration Celebrates the 2016 Emerging Leaders Graduation


Providence, RI – The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) welcomed its second group of Emerging Leaders graduates today.  Participants engaged in extensive business strategy, financial analysis, and marketing/sales skills to hone their entrepreneurial acumen  This executive-level, intensive education series includes approximately 100 hours of classroom time per participant, provides the opportunity for small business owners to work with experienced mentors, attend workshops and develop connections with peers, city leaders and financial communities. 

“The Emerging Leaders initiative has been an incredible success and these graduates can attest to the many benefits of this SBA program,” said Mark S. Hayward, SBA Rhode Island District Director. “This is our second year of the Emerging Leaders program in Providence and it is evident that it elevates both these graduates and their businesses to new heights,” added Hayward.

This year’s graduates include Donna Childs, founder of Prisere LLC; Amy Vogel, COO of Dr. Day Care; Emily DeMerchant, Vice President of ConexSys; Clarence R. Snead Jr., CEO of S & S Trucking; Kenneth Twitchell, founder of Ocean State Energy Audits Inc; Nick L’Etoile, Vice President of Custom Molder Products; Spencer McCombe, founder of Cordtsen Design Architecture; JoEllen Hockenbrough, Owner of Providence Power Yoga; Kimberly Cornwell, CEO of Celadon Road Inc; Kelly Taylor founder of Kelly Taylor Interior Design; Line Daems, Owner of Kreatelier; and Richard Grundy, President of AVTECH Software.

The instructor for the 2016 Emerging Leaders Program was Gil Lantini, co-founder of Integrated Media Group (IMG), and the Founder and President of the Rhode Island Small Business Journal.
