Cekalla Selected as Senior Area Manager for SBA

Fargo, ND – Hettianne Cekalla has been selected as the Senior Area Manager for the Bismarck office of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).  As Senior Area Manager, Cekalla will be responsible for delivering SBA services in twenty-five counties in western North Dakota.  Located in the SBA Office in the state-owned Bank of North Dakota, she will work with a network of SBA counseling and training providers including SCORE, Small Business Development Centers and the Women’s Business Center.  Along with staff from the North Dakota District Office, Cekalla will provide outreach and training on SBA finance programs and services to lenders located in Bismarck, Minot, Williston, Dickinson and surrounding rural communities, serving an area of more than 36,000 square miles.

“We are excited to have Hetti join the SBA team in serving western North Dakota,” said SBA North Dakota District Director Alan Haut. “She brings a wealth of experience in small business and financing to assist entrepreneurs and lenders get access to SBA programs.”

Prior to joining the SBA’s North Dakota District Office, Cekalla served with USDA Rural Development in Rapid City, South Dakota, and with the SBA in El Paso, Texas. A native of South Dakota and a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Duluth, Cekalla has worked as a real estate broker, mortgage loan officer and real property assessor in Illinois and Minnesota.
