U.S. Small Business Administration Appoints George Flores as Fresno Deputy District Director

FRESNO, Calif. – The United States Small Business Administration has named George Flores the new Deputy Director for its Fresno District. With extensive community service experience in the San Joaquin Valley and a strong leadership background, Flores will assist in the delivery of SBA services throughout the Central California and Central Coast’s 15-county region.

“George will provide leadership to the SBA Fresno team that supports Central California’s continued growth through entrepreneurship development, small business expansion, and job creation” said Fresno District Director Dawn Golik.

As Deputy District Director, Flores will also advocate for the region’s entrepreneurs, expand access to SBA programs in rural and underserved communities, increase the utilization of SBA services across 15 central California counties, and supervise staff in the Fresno District Office.

A graduate of California State University at Fresno,  a 1st Lieutenant (Retired) Veteran in the Army National Guard, and recipient of a Bronze Star for combat service in Iraq, Flores has had a distinguished 26-year Federal government career. Flores previously served as the Chief of Police with the Veterans Affairs Central California Healthcare System, and was recognized as a Veteran Honoree for Memorial Day 2016.
