SANTA ANA,  Calif. – Do you or someone you know have what it takes to become America’s “Small Business Person of the Year” for 2022?  If so, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) wants to hear from you. 

The U.S. Small Business Administration is proud to announce that the SBA’s Orange County/Inland Empire (OCIE) District Office is ready to accept nominations for its 2022 National and District Small Business Week Awards, including the annual Small Business Person of the Year award.

The SBA Awards given in celebration of National and District Small Business Week include the following awards:

 

OCIE District Small Business Week Categories:

  • Small Business Person of the Year (National and District)
  • Small Business Exporter (National and District)
  • 8(a) Graduate of the Year
  • SBDC Excellence and Innovation Award
  • Veteran Small Business Outreach Center of the Year
  • Women’s Business Center of the Year Excellence Award
  • Small Business Investment Company of the Year Award

 

Local Awards:

  • Community Excellence Award
  • Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year
  • Family-Owned Business of the Year
  • Micro-Entrepreneur of the Year
  • Veteran Small Business Champion of the Year
  • Young Entrepreneur of the Year

Adalberto Quijada, District Director, is responsible for the delivery of SBA programs and services in the Southern California counties of Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino. Located in Santa Ana near John Wayne Airport, the office and its staff facilitate understanding and access to SBA loan programs; coordinate and conduct hundreds of training sessions and special events annually such as matchmaking forums and loan workshops; and manage a portfolio of nearly 100 businesses enrolled in the agency’s 8(a) business development program.
