The HUBZone Maps

The Qualified Census Tract and Qualified Non-Metropolitan County median household income and difficult development area updates have been published on the HUBZone Maps. These changes have been incorporated into the designations:

  • Qualified Census Tracts now have a 20% population cap imposed on them to be consistent with SBA's regulations. This cap does not apply to Puerto Rico. Click here for more information.
  • All areas that were listed as "Redesignated" on 12/12/17 now have their redesignation period extended to December 2021 as a result of the National Defense Authorization Act for FY 2018.
  • Qualified Census Tracts and Qualified Non-Metropolitan Counties were updated with the latest data received prior to 12/12/17.
  • Existing HUBZone areas including Qualified Census Tracts, Qualified Non-Metropolitan Counties, and Redesignated Areas will maintain their designations until December 2021.

In order to qualify for the HUBZone program, the business must be located in an area designated as a Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Zone and at least 35% of its employees must reside in a HUBZone. You may determine if an address or a particular area is designated as a HUBZone by using the HUBZone Map.

In 2017, SBA released the new HUBZone map. To understand how to use the new HUBZone Map, check out these videos:
